Skateboarder skateboarding outdoors on sunny morning

Let’s Go Skateboarding

Sometimes the Best Investment is Community

There is a little event going on in our community this weekend. It takes weeks to plan and organize every year. The volunteers meet with the city officials, vendors, and participants. All the awards are hand-made from donated materials.

It is a local skateboard contest.

Now why would I be writing about a skateboard contest? And how does that even relate to what we do here at Mangrove Investor and The Grove?

It is all about giving back.

As a company and as individuals, giving back to others is at the core of who we are here at Mangrove. We believe that being involved with and serving our community is a vital part of our mission.

A small non-profit, that Mangrove supports, hosts this weekend’s skateboard event. The event is the Terry Kelly Skate Jam, and the non-profit is the Friends of Fernandina Skate Park (FFSP).

FFSP is a small community non-profit that is much more than skateboarding. It is all about the community, kids, and family. Through its various programs FFSP promotes a heathy physical outdoor lifestyle. It helps kids to develop lifelong bonds and encourage self-esteem.

The Terry Kelly Skate Jam is the premier event for FFSP. It’s free to enter. There are food trucks, a pirate ship, and a live band.

It took its name from Terry Kelly, the father of a local skate boarder. He passed away suddenly, while cheering on his son at an event. FFSP changed the name of the skate event to honor his dedication to his son.

We believe he was a role model for us all. We want to build strong, self-confident children. Supporting kids in all activities is an investment in our community and our future.

And that is what this event is, it is not skateboarding, it is a community coming together to support their kids. Our kids are the seeds of the future, and how we nurture and support them plays a critical role in shaping the world they will inherit.

Providing our kids with positive support not only fosters their growth and development but also lays the foundation for a brighter, more compassionate society.

FFSP’s goal is to support the skateboarding community through the creation of a safe space where these kids can feel comfortable to express themselves without fear of judgment of criticism. This in turn helps these kids to navigate life’s challenges.

At Mangrove, we are about more than monthly stock research. We celebrate the power of small giving. Sometimes your time is worth far more than your dollars.

In a world that emphasizes grand gestures, it is important to remember that giving back is not always about going big. The spirit of giving lies in the countless small acts of kindness and generosity happening every day.

Giving back is a way to create a positive cycle of goodwill. It helps build stronger communities and contribute to the overall well-being of our society.

Mangrove Investor is proud to sponsor the Terry Kelly Skate Jam. The best of luck to all the competitors.

For The Good

Renewable Investing ETFs: Sustainability Investing Cleans Up Its Image

While ESG as a marketing term has begun to lose its appeal, the underlying principles still have merit. (NASDAQ)

Why ESG is hard to sell to many advisors?

The term is used and misused to the extent that it has lost meaning — but it’s not going away, and it could be a mistake to ignore it. (Investment News)
